Terms of service
Last updated 17 September 2026
Sewn is a private, invitation-only writing studio. By making an account or using Sewn, you agree to these terms.
Your account
Accounts are by invitation. Keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens under it. You need to be at least 13 to use Sewn.
Your writing is yours
You keep every right to what you write, record and upload. Sewn claims no ownership of it and no license to it, beyond storing and processing it so the studio can work for you: transcribing your voice, saving versions, reading aloud, and exporting when you ask. The privacy policy says how it's kept.
Fair use
Please don't:
- use Sewn for anything unlawful, or to store material you have no right to;
- try to get into anyone else's account or writing, or probe or disrupt the server;
- share your account or invite code publicly, or resell access;
- run automated traffic against Sewn beyond ordinary use of the app.
Other services
Signing in with Google and publishing to Google Drive are optional, and using them is also subject to Google's own terms. Sewn isn't responsible for services it doesn't run.
Availability
Sewn is a small service. It may be slow, offline for maintenance, or unavailable without notice, and features may change. Keep your own copies of work that matters: export is there for that.
Ending an account
You can stop using Sewn at any time and ask for your account to be deleted. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the server or other writers at risk, and we'll give you a chance to export your writing where that's reasonable.
No warranty
Sewn is provided as it is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Transcriptions and suggestions from the language model can be wrong; check them.
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Sewn and the people who run it aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost data, lost profits or lost work, arising from your use of Sewn. Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited.
Changes
These terms may change. The date at the top changes with them, and anything significant is told to account holders directly. Using Sewn after a change means you accept it.
